FAQ

What is CBD oil?

CBD Oil is a CBD rich extraction from the hemp plant. CBD, otherwise known as cannabidiol, is a cannabinoid found in the cannabis sativa plant. It’s typically extracted from industrial hemp. The benefits of CBD are substantial, although clinical research has historically been inhibited by the legal prohibition of cannabis.

What is CBD oil used for?

CBD Oil has a number of potential therapeutic uses. Some people use it for addressing symptoms of pain, anxiety, depression, nausea, seizures, sleep and more. However, keep in mind that CBD is not an FDA approved treatment option for any condition.

What is CBD oil made from?

CBD oil is made by extracting the compound from high-grade, organically grown, industrial hemp. At Myriad Wellness, we use CO2 extracted, full spectrum hemp oil. Learn more about our process.

What is the difference between CBD and THC?

There are many cannabinoids in the cannabis sativa plant – the two most commonly talked about are CBD and THC. CBD is a non-psychoactive component that has significant therapeutic value. THC, on the other hand, is highly psychoactive and causes the “high” associated with marijuana.

What is the difference between hemp and marijuana?

Both hemp and marijuana come from the same plant, cannabis sativa. Marijuana is cultivated for medical and recreational use as a drug, while hemp is cultivated for industrial uses. Marijuana contains high levels of THC, the main psychoactive compound that’s responsible for the “high”. Hemp contains very little THC, if any. We make our products from strains of industrial hemp that are high in CBD and extremely low in THC.

Is CBD legal?

In 2018, with the passing of the Farm bill, CBD is now federally legal!. We sell only hemp-derived CBD oil. That said, CBD oil derived  from marijuana, or CBD oil with THC levels higher than 0.3%, is subject to different laws and may only be legal where there are medical or recreational marijuana laws in place. We encourage customers to research laws in their area before buying non hemp derived CBD products.

Does CBD get you high?

There are no psychoactive effects from CBD, so it does not cause a “high” of any kind. THC is the main psychoactive compound that is responsible for the high from marijuana, and our products contain extremely low levels of THC that are below the legal limit of 0.3%. We do recommend starting with a smaller dose (30mg or less) even if you intend on trying a high dose. Taking too high of a dose without easing your way into it, may lead to sleepiness.
